A bad transition after a moment of transcendental happiness

We picked Aaron up from BlueFire and he was so hopeful and excited about transitioning to Catalyst. We drove from Gooding to Brigham City, stopping at places along the way. Aaron was like a teenaged version of his happy little boy self. He was the teenager I had imagined: smart and talkative and happy. He was thrilled that he could bring eight books with him to Catalyst, and pulled a list of books he wanted to read out of his backpack. The girl at the store, Aaron and I happily trotted all around the store finding the books on his list: including Catcher in the Rye, Anthem (Ayn Rand??), A Streetcar Named Desire, etc. He was so happy.

We went to Catalyst at 3 pm on the 18th and the first thing they did was take his books away.

sigh.
